How can I get such good PR???

Butterflies are lazy. Yeah, I know they are pretty and we all like the symbolism of some ugly thing crawling into a cocoon and emerging as something beautiful, but they are lazy.

We have a hummingbird feeder in the back yard. The hummingbirds flit in, take a few sips and whiz off to do important hummingbird business. Not the butterflies. The butterflies congregate and hang out on the feeder for HOURS.

Why does no one want to expose the dark side of butterflies? What do the butterflies have on US?

I think they just have a REALLY good publicist.

Hey, remember the 80's?

I do. That means I am old. Now I know fashion runs in those 20 yr cycles and the 80's thing is coming back around. This is my prayer to the fashion gods & goddesses==

Ok what I really am thingking is THANKS for the fashion recycling because right about the time the fairy princess hits puberty, the grunge look should be coming back. She'll want to wear 3 flannel shirts and a knit cap- I can live with that!!

Free food tastes better

So far so good on the budget front. I haven't hit a drive thru in days, though I do miss my fountain Coke(R). Went out to dinner Friday but someone else paid. Don't ya love that!! Today there is a community Fourth of July Party at the YMCA, so we're gonna grab some free food there too.

This reminds me of my college days. There were times I was so broke, I would go to the Baptist Student Group meetings just b/c they had free pizza!!

We took the Fairy Princess to the natural history museum yesterday (free). Had a great time. She liked the dinosaurs and taxidermy. She wasn't so crazy about the live snakes though. Spent 27 cents on stickers, but she's worth it!!

Lest you think I have no manners, a handwritten thank you note was dispatched Saturday morning to the folks who picked up the tab on Friday night.

How LOW can she go??

This is going to be fun. The Dreamboat and I spent too much on vacation, so we're gonna tighten the belt and see how quickly we can get the savings back up to acceptable levels.

SOOO, I'm pulling out all the stops. Gonna get cheap and creative. I'll keep ya posted.
